描述：企鹅兰登（北京）即将在Easy Classic套系中出版著名美国作家、编剧Charles Beaumont的短篇小说故事集中文版。我有幸接受商业委托并为其创作了二十余篇插画作品，目前已完成委托合同签订并得到全部成稿的验收确认，成书预计于明年面世。Charles Beaumont的短篇小说多以奇幻、恐怖风格的心理惊悚小说为主，风格诡谲的同时又充满奇思妙想，渗透着对人性的深入思考。我在插画创作过程中，力求契合原作思考深度的同时，通过带有一定复古和暗黑色彩的画风，竭力还原原作的恐怖和奇幻氛围。整个插画创作过程充满享受，对我来说亦是一次奇幻的旅程。
Perchance to dream /《可能有梦》This is an illustration for Perchance to Dream, one of the short stories collected in Easy Classic-Charles Beaumont. It tells a bizarre story of how a man, haunted by nightmares, was killed during a dialogue with his psychiatrist. The illustration is intended to express the tension and terror the hero experienced when he “fell dead on a roller coaster” in his dream.
Jungle /《雨林》This is an illustration for Jungle, one of the short stories collected in Easy Classic-Charles Beaumont. It tells a story of a future generation of westerners who tried to establish an experimental metropolis in Africa but ended up crashed by local culture. The illustration is intended to depict the dramatic moment in the story when the tribal shaman cast a curse on the hero using witchcraft.
Sorcerer’s Moon / 《巫师之月》This is an illustration for Sorcerer’s Moon, one of the short stories collected in Easy Classic-Charles Beaumont. It tells a story of two sorcerers who conducted a duel with each other through a bounty killer. The illustration is intended to portray the scene when one of the sorcerers got his heart frozen by spells. The eye of the crow is a metaphor for the magic moon in the story.
Fritzchen / 《弗里茨》This is an illustration for Fritzchen, one of the short stories collected in Easy Classic-Charles Beaumont. It tells a story of Fritzchen, some strange creature that a boy picked up by the sea, then got caged in a pet shop by the boy’s father and became a larger danger as it transformed. The illustration depicts the scene where two male adults put the strange creature inside the cage.
Father,Dear Father /《父亲，亲爱的父亲》This is an illustration for Father, Dear Father, one of the short stories collected in Easy Classic-Charles Beaumont. It tells the story with an unexpected ending of a mad scientist who designed a time machine and went back to the past to seek revenge on his own father. The illustration portrays the hero when he made it to the past and looked afar at his father’s house before revenge.
The Howling Man /《嚎叫的男人》This is an illustration for The Howling Man, one of the short stories collected in Easy Classic-Charles Beaumont. It tells the story of imprisonment that happened at an ancient abbey. Whether it was a human or a demon imprisoned became a mystery in the end. The illustration expresses the very moment when the clergy captured the demon with his giant hands and the demon howled aloud.
A Classic Affair /《一桩经典的婚外情》This is an illustration for A Classic Affair, one of the short stories collected in Easy Classic-Charles Beaumont. It tells the fantastic story of a married man who fell in love with a mysterious magic car. The illustration is intended to depict the marvelousness of the car in the hero’s eyes and the abnormal fetish of the character.
Blood Brother /《血兄》This is an illustration for Blood Brother, one of the short stories collected in Easy Classic-Charles Beaumont. It reflects the identity anxiety of a vampire who advocated human morality but could not resist his hunting in the darkness. The illustration is intended to express the conflict between his recognition of identity and his bitter regret.

It tells a story about love under the shadow of advanced clone technology and human duplication techniques. The illustration expresses the scene where the hero and the heroine tried to escape from human duplication techniques.

It tells the story of a group of aliens in the disguise of humans to take up the planet earth through TV programs. The illustration depicts the scene where human beings were devastated by a special synchronized broadcast around the world.
The Beautiful People /《美丽的人们》This is an illustration for The Beautiful People, one of the short stories collected in Easy Classic-Charles Beaumont. The story depicts a future world where humans were in exile in the universe on space ships and gradually formed a unified aesthetic that they even utilized technology to transform their appearances. The illustration is intended to express the absurd idea of “beauties by the production line”.
Free Dirt /《免费的泥土》This is an illustration for Free Dirt, one of the short stories collected in Easy Classic-Charles Beaumont. It tells the story of a man who was tempted by the magic dirt and then ate his own bitter fruit eventually. The illustration includes the most dramatic moment of the story.
The Magic Man /《魔法师》This is an illustration for The Magic Man, one of the short stories collected in Easy Classic-Charles Beaumont. It tells the story of an old magician who farewelled his town in loneliness when he was about to retire. The illustration depicts the scene where the old magic man was leaving the town where he used to be popular on his carriage.
Last Rites /《最后的仪式》This is an illustration for Last Rites, one of the short stories collected in Easy Classic-Charles Beaumont. It tells the story of a man-made man who asked a priest to conduct the last rites for him before he died. Through the difference between a man-made man and a human, the story tries to discuss the problem of human spirits. The illustration combines the image of Jesus as a shepherd and the story titled Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and expresses a different interpretation that humans hold of our own existence under the influence of advanced technology.
The Music of the Yellow Brass /《黄铜音乐》This is an illustration for The Music of the Yellow Brass, one of the short stories collected in Easy Classic-Charles Beaumont. It tells the story of a young matador whose blood stained the bullring for glory. The illustration expresses the state of mind when the matador entered the bullring.
The New People /《新人》This is an illustration for The New People, one of the short stories collected in Easy Classic-Charles Beaumont. It tells a horror story of a family who were killed ruthlessly by a heretic sect. The illustration depicts the ritual by the villains in the basement of the hero’s house.
A Death in the Country /《乡间死亡事件》This is an illustration for A Death in the Country, one of the short stories collected in Easy Classic-Charles Beaumont. It tells the odd experience of a once-popular racer who went for a car race in the country. The illustration depicts the scene where the hero raced with Death.
Träumerei /《幻梦》This is an illustration for Träumerei, one of the short stories collected in Easy Classic-Charles Beaumont. It tells the bizarre story of a prisoner who claimed that the world was his dream and that the world would vanish if he was shot dead. The illustration depicts another interpretation of the ending.

The story is about the conflicts and revengeful murders that happened in a band over a talented pianist/accompanist. The illustration depicts the image that the pure and wonderful music dream was beleaguered by surging a maelstrom of desires.
The New Sound /《新的声音》This is an illustration for The New Sound, one of the short stories collected in Easy Classic-Charles Beaumont. It tells the absurd story of a maniac sound collector who finally found the last sound, i.e. the sound of his death, at the final nuclear explosion. The illustration pictures a strange image of the collecting addict immersed in the illusion of sound.
